Description
Holographic effects have appeared in movies since the 1950's. In the original Star Wars trilogy, for example, this effect was created by first videotaping actors against a black background, displaying that on a television screen, and filming directly off the screen. The result was then matted into the movie. This created rather distinctive interlaced, low-resolution imagery - characteristic of the low quality holographics we often see in movies.
Holographic Projector takes this technique into the digital realm, adding multi-level Opacity interlacing, full-color processing or R/G/B weighted Bi-Colorization, and light-cast Glow. As well, changes in reception quality can be simulated by keyframing Drop-Out and Noise parameters. These features can also be used to simulate other sci-fi style effects such as transporter/teleportation devices.
This plug-in will work with any image or sequence of images (Color or B&W); but is intended for use with imagery that contains an alpha channel, such as would be created using Aura's Key filters.
Features
Full-color processing or R/G/B weighted Bi-Colorization (positive or negative).
Simulated reception quality: Drop-Out (single or multi-pixel continuous) and Noise.
Multi-level Opacity interlacing.
Dual-axis light-cast Glow with variable opacity.
Keyframeable parameters: Border, Offset, Rotate, Scale, and Smooth.
Keyframing management functions: Load, Save As, Reset.
Live WYSIWYG preview, lets you see exactly what the effect looks like while you alter the parameters.
Includes sample backdrop images and keyframe files for holographic projection and teleportation.
Smart start-up procedure that doesn't allocate system resources until the plug-in is actually used.
Inline Help balloons for gadgets.
Multi-language capability through localization (.loc) files. English included.
* Keyframing features and Glow are not supported in Aura 1.0c and Aura DV 1.0e.
